Visually, the 308 GTBi is identical to a classic GTB. The “i” for injection demonstrates that Ferrari has been able to recycle its know-how in racing and transfer to an everyday car. It’s a bit like a superhero discovering a new superpower. The addition of the injection system is above all ecological. To clarify, this choice was made in the 80s in order to continue to sell Ferraris in the United States where the emission standards had just been lowered. At the time, CO2 emissions were pushing manufacturers to develop new technological processes.
